Along the Kaitzbach, head east out of the village. Grazing goats underline the idyllic rural charm. The brook was given special importance as early as the Middle Ages. So it fed the moat of the Dresden city and fortification wall. During the Battle of Dresden in 1813, the extensive meadows and slopes of the Kaitzgrund were considered valuable strategic camps and were therefore highly contested. The narrow footpath is lined with ancient willows that are reminiscent of Erlkönig's daughters. Directly at the stream we meet a stone lizard that belongs to the “Mnemosyne” water art trail. In 1994 the way to commemorate the Kaitzbach, which was more and more displaced from the cityscape with industrial development, was designed by the Dresden Secession 89. It now extends over the entire length of the Kaitzbach, from the walled spring in Kleinnaundorf to the inner old town. To the left of the path a meadow slope spreads up to the height, sheep graze under tall trees. A swamp biotope extends to the right. The valley is marked as an area natural monument. When crossing the bridge, the view falls on the hunting column with the course swords and the year 1751. It served to mark the crossing of the stream during court hunts and delimited the court hunting area.

A short stretch between the village center of Altmockritz and the Mockritz natural pool, the small stream is allowed to unfold unenclosed here. On the north side of the stream there is a small pen for all kinds of goats and sheep. The shore here is shallow and easily accessible for playing children.
