The old Fehrbacher tunnel is a former railway tunnel of the Biebermühlbahn.
It passes under the B10 and an industrial area near the Pirmasens district of Fehrbach.
The north portal is only a few meters next to and below the New Fehrbacher Tunnel.
The north portal can be reached via a tiny side valley, in which there is also the highlight "waterfall". From the portal you can walk a little over the old rails until the route is completely blocked by trees. Then you have to descend steeply to the right to the original path.

The tunnel is ~900m long. Completely dark inside. Definitely take flashlights with you. Cell phone light is not enough. Easier access in winter/spring when the greyness/weeds/nettles are not that high.

Over 900m long and pitch black. A bit scary and totally exciting. A highlight for children and for adults who have remained children. However, access is difficult, there are steep slopes on both sides, so not for small children. Be sure to take flashlights with you and note that it is quite cold in the tunnel.
