The “Vienna International Garden Show 1974” (WIG 74) was a great success with the public with 2.6 million visitors. At the end of 1974 the area of the garden show was finally converted into a public park, which is very popular. The Kurpark Oberlaa is divided into different themed areas in order to offer visitors different relaxation rooms. The spa park is approx. 608,000 m². Horticultural monuments, path systems and artificial soil formations are under monument protection.
