    The rooms of the city library and the city archive were originally created for a copper (boiler) smithy. A modern library has been located behind the historic façade since 2000.

    About history:
    - built as a storage facility by C. Schulze around 1890
    -1905 by Emil Gessner and construction of the factory hall
    -1906-1948 coppersmiths of the Gessner family
    -1948-1953 Association of state-owned companies for food and luxury food VVB NAGEMA
    -1953-1958 building cooperative "Bau-Steine-Erden"
    -1959-1997 PGH "painter" / Renova painter GmbH Beeskow
    -1999-2000 Conversion to the city library and city archive
