The park south of the hospital used to house a small chapel and the hospital's cemetery (god's acre). Some gravestones and memorial stones still remind us of the former purpose of this site, including the grave of the French city treasurer in the service of the city of Beeskow, Jean Pierre Barthélemy. The Soviet honorary cemetery was established in 1948 on a part of the area to the northwest of the old cemetery.
