Trittau–Bad Oldesloe Rail Trail

One might think that Stormarn would have a bike expressway there - if it weren't for the tricky side streets. The locking grilles are well-intentioned, but not well-done. I got caught on one with the handlebars and almost fell. The right-of-way rules at these intersections should be reconsidered. The train used to have the right of way everywhere - one could have left it that way.

Good for connecting interesting areas and sometimes making rapid progress by trekking or mountain bike. But be careful on the many cross streets / paths, especially during the harvest.

The path is quickly passable. Many benches along the way make it easy to take a break. You can eat in the villages along the bike path.
