The royal house of Hanover was often a guest in Bad Rehburg in the past. The Friederiken Chapel was built in 1842 by King Ernst August for the late Queen Friederike. Today the chapel is an art monument. You can contact the parish Rehburg via ev-kirche-rehburg.de.

One parish, two places, two churches. On the outskirts of Bad Rehburg, above the old bathing facilities, the Friederiken Chapel nestles against the edge of the forest. In 1842 Bad Rehburg received its own church, donated by Queen Friederike - the Friederiken Chapel named after her. Her spa stay in Bad Rehburg in 1840 was decisive for the idea of building it. However, she did not live to see the initiation.
The so-called Bussche memorial stone stands in front of the Friederieken Chapel. It was dedicated in 1780 by Baron Christian August von dem Bussche to his wife Christiane Carolia, née von Ende, who died at the age of 41.
The barrel-vaulted hall with a monumental western gable and the non-retracted apse is a characteristic of romantic historicism. The square entrance facade forms an effective accent against the backdrop of the Berwald in Gothic forms. The furnishings date from the 19th century, i.e. from the time it was built.
