The building was designed in neo-Gothic style by the Bad Rehburg pulmonologist Dr. Lehrke built in 1898. The building was later used as an excursion restaurant and is now privately owned and unfortunately cannot be visited. Two pilgrimage routes lead along here: Loccum-Vokenroda and the Siegwardsweg.

The tour is very well marked. After long periods of rain, the start and end of the tour at 200 to 300 m are a bit muddy.

The Matteschlösschen is a villa that once served as a sanitorium. Today the building is privately owned, but the house and garden are good to look at from the outside. Unfortunately, all long-distance hiking trails do not go exactly past it. You can get there via a publicly accessible road or via a path.
