The Romanesque parish church of St. Peter has been a pilgrimage church since ancient times (12th century). The former lords of the castle designed this small village church unusually richly out of veneration for St. Lüfthildis, who is said to have lived in the castle. In addition to many documents of the veneration of St. Lüfthildis, the church today also contains references to the most important resident of Lüftelberg, Johann Adam Schall von Bell, who worked as a missionary at the Chinese imperial court in the 17th century.
