The 800-year-old shipping town of Lauenburg/Elbe is the southernmost town in Schleswig-Holstein. Its picturesque old town on the banks of the Elbe is worth seeing, with its nostalgic, crooked half-timbered houses, the Elbe Shipping Museum and the imposing Maria Magdalene Church from 1227.
