Very beautiful and excellently preserved half-timbered house from 1688.

The inscription on the ancient wooden door on the front part of the building reveals the year of construction:

MAN LIVES NOT ON BREAD BUT ON ANY WORD OF GOD LVC 4 ANNO 1688

The Unterrohleder 3 property is a two- to three-storey residential building with saddle roofs, which was built on a solid base in a half-timbered construction. The eastern part has an inscription on the ground floor with the year 1688, the western part of the building was probably added in the 18th century.

The two house entrances are on the north side, due to the large differences in level of the site, one enters the first floor through the western door. The inscription above the eastern door reads: "MAN DOES NOT LIVE ON BREAD BUT ON ANY WORD OF GOD LVC 4 ANNO 1688". There are two monograms next to it.

The building belongs to the Unterrohleder Hofschaft, which was an early settlement in the north of the Wuppertal urban area.
