The rustic chapel with the massive, misshapen tower is a highly visible landmark in a beautiful landscape. The courtyard full of cherry trees invites for a break.

It is believed that the construction of the originally dedicated as Margaret's Chapel small church on the missionary activity of Saint Swidbert from England at the turn of the 8th to 9 Century goes back. The chapel served the scattered peasants of the rule Hardenberg as a place of worship. Documents about renovation work are available since 1682Source:

The exact age of the Windrather chapel is unfortunately not known. It can be assumed that at the end of the eighth or the beginning of the ninth century, as a result of the missionary activity of St. Swidbert was built from England on the site of a pagan place of worship. It was probably dedicated to St. Margaretha.Continuation of the story and further information:

For us, this beautiful piece of earth is called "paradise" because at the foot of the church there are many apple trees on "open church ground", and it is not only Eva who does not say no.
    We have never been expelled!
