"The Westerholt moated castle, built in the 19th century and completely renovated in 1993, is located on the edge of the Westerholt forest.
The adjoining old village with its around 60 well-preserved half-timbered houses is one of the special cultural and historical monuments, as is Westerholt Castle.
Precious oil paintings, stucco ceilings, old engravings and a romantic inner courtyard are still reminiscent of the splendor and atmosphere of centuries past. Today there is a restaurant and a hotel in Westerholt Castle and an 18-hole golf course extends around the property."
