Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
This approximately seven-kilometer cycle path runs mostly along the old route of the Hugo Bahn, which was part of the once dense network of coal mines in the Ruhr. The coal mine Hugo has been closed since the year 2000, since then was diligently built on the bike path, which was finally finished 2017 in its current form.
The path is mostly equipped with water-bound ceiling, the newer parts are paved. You cycle to a few intersections car-free. The track is really nice - if you fancy a piece of real pot culture, make a short detour to Jockels Büdchen, which is only a few meters away from the tracks in a parallel street: komoot.de highlight / 539,058th
