't Spei is located just outside the city center, on the territory of the boroughs of Oudenaarde, Bevere and Leupegem. In 1988, as part of the 'Plant a forest' campaign, a mixed deciduous forest of over 3 hectares was planted. Several local schools were involved in this planting. The action was crowned by the King Baudouin Foundation.
