"The West Bank Park stretches along the western bank of the Haltern reservoir. From here, the seaside resort with its long sandy beach can be seen on the opposite bank. The wide view over the water makes a walk through the greenery, a rest on one of the benches or a picnic at the wooden dining areas worthwhile. The large meadow invites dogs and their owners to play and offers children plenty of space to romp around. There is a playground and a large climbing frame available for them. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the artificial turf football pitch and the basketball hoops attached to it. The footpath is lined with a row of trees planted by wedding couples.
Because of its drinking water function, this part of the lake shore is fenced off and not accessible. The railway underpass connects the West Bank Park directly to the residential area on Sixtus-, Johannes- and Seestraße.
