    The Haltern reservoir is easily reached by train. From Münster and Wanne-Eickel trains leave every 30 minutes.
    At the station you keep to the right, walk a short distance parallel to the railway line and then cross the railway line through a small tunnel. Immediately after the tunnel turn left. The rest of the route is self-explanatory.

    The path around the Haltern reservoir is wide and paved. He is therefore very popular with cyclists. I therefore prefer to hike the nearby Hullerner reservoir. It is quieter there.
