Ruhrtalstraße (branch at the Kattenturm), Essen (access)
The quarry is located on the right bank of the Ruhr between Essen Werden and Essen Kettwig. From the S-Bahn station "Essen Kettwig" follow the Ruhrtalstraße for about 600 meters in the direction of Werden. At the bus stop "Kattenturm", at the ruin Kattenturm, a hiking trail branches off to the left. It turns right after about 50 meters and from there it goes 300 meters uphill to the quarry.
