Essen prospects: "28 - KETTWIGER STADTWALD"
Observation pulpit with a beautiful distant view of the Ruhr Valley to Werden and the Niederbergische heights.
"...North of the Bilstein vantage point, the forest path leads past the cemetery into the Kettwiger Stadtwald, which covers around 109 hectares. The path is
lined with numerous information boards, each presenting a "Tree of the Year" from the past decades. After a few minutes' walk you reach this vantage point, which offers a wide view of the Ruhr Valley to the east - up to the district of Werden. The former towpath, which today serves as a cycle path, runs along the left bank. Down by the river you can see tennis courts in the foreground, the green areas on the other bank belong to the Haus Oefte golf club. The restaurant is on the opposite side
Schevener Hof, like many buildings in the Essen area, was built from quarry stone. ..."
