From the 19th century the stone table was discovered by famous poets; so among others Hoffmann von Fallersleben (poet of the Deutschlandlied), Professor Adolf Ludwig Follen and Gottfried Keller - this is said to have stated here on an autumn evening according to tradition: "Oh eyes, drink what holds the eyelashes from the golden abundance of the world."
