From Stein am Rhein you can take the bus to the Höwald stop. There you cross the road to the left. Then immediately turn right onto the forest path. We leave the forester's house at Nägelsee behind us and come to a forest clearing and a barbecue area.
The view is beautiful. You can see the entire Alpine chain from east to west. Then continue towards Klingenzell. As soon as the meadows are in sight, you will see a farm with a crossroad on the left. At first you are a little confused as to where the path continues. So the path leads directly into the forest. After that it is easy to walk to the Klingenzell restaurant. There is good food there. Price-performance ratio is right for Swiss people. It may be on the higher end for foreign guests. At the front of the chapel it goes down to Echenz train station or Stein am Rhein.
