The Westendorfer Egge is characterized on the north side by a large quarry that starts in the west and has bisected the mountain from west to east.
In the east, the quarry is about 30 m away from the southern edge of the ridge.
In the west, the ridge is only about 10 m wide in some places
the quarry even moved up to approx. 5 m to the southern edge of the ridge!
The ascent to the ridge path is not easy to find from either side. The somewhat demanding path is still worthwhile because of the great view to the south into the Weser Valley from a viewing cliff, and to the north over to the Bückeberge.

Beautiful trail on the edge of the quarry. Be sure to go east to west. The entrance is then difficult to see and in places quite exhausting - but a top trail at the top. It then goes down quite easily via serpentines.
