Here is the forest chapel Hünkeshohl. From time to time there are open air services.

The panorama path around Drolshagen is very nicely laid out. Maybe, like here, a little too much asphalt. But overall a great way.

The Marien Chapel Hünkesohl "Greetings to Mary in the quiet forest solitude", far from the traffic and noise of the street, romantically situated in the forest, is a popular place of pilgrimage and prayer. It owes its existence to a humble, simple woman: Theresia Berg (1861-1929), who has since become a legend. It is said that a gust of wind blew a crumpled picture of the Virgin Mary at her one day while she was tending or fetching wood, which she pinned to a tree with her hairpin so that she could pray here and always bring fresh flowers that she picked along the way. As it fell apart, she replaced the paper picture with a simple figure of Mary. This happened in the years before the First World War.
In memory of this peaceful place, a local soldier, August Bone, in the midst of the oppressive war events, vowed that if he could see his homeland again in good health, he would expand and maintain the place of prayer, which he did into old age. In 1954 the Kolping family took over the chapel and renewed it from solid tree trunks.
