When I visited in March 2024, the forest along the path still looked pretty good and the path was freely passable. If you want to see the Wilder Grund in all its beauty, you shouldn't wait too long, as the forest along the path is very spruce-heavy and it is certainly unclear whether it will ever be cleared again.
