In order to get to the starting point of the Engelweg, a distance of approx. 650 m from the parking lots "Horntannhalde" and "Jägerbrunnen" has to be covered on the Europe-Rundwanderweg. The beginning of the Engelweg is the "Enge Türle", a symbolic passage. The path runs parallel to Westweg, leads past the Volzemer Steinen (rock formation) and ends at the refuge, which is about 250 m east of the Volzemer Steine.
