The Schiller garden house is one of only two surviving residences of Friedrich Schiller in Jena, where he lived with his family in the summers of 1797 and 1799. Some of his most important works, such as parts of Wallenstein and Maria Stuart, as well as numerous ballads, were composed here. In 1799 Schiller moved to Weimar with his family, but did not finally give up the garden house in Jena until 1801. The house is now owned by the Friedrich Schiller University, which maintains a museum and a place for discourse with numerous types of events.

One of the five houses that Schiller lived in Jena.
      Two houses still exist.

The garden shed was at the gates of the city at the time. In the garden pinnacle he wrote important works. He sat at the stone table with Goethe, among others.

Friedrich Schiller spent 10 years of his life and his most important and fruitful time in Jena.
