The remains of the city wall extend over a length of about 150 meters. The Wall and the Wiekturm (watch and defense tower) were built in the 14th century from fieldstone. After a city fire in 1821 was gradually the demolition of the gates and walls. The removed material was used for new buildings. Today, along the former city wall, the so-called green belt, a pedestrian and bicycle path through park-like greenery.
