With these and other sayings, the children went to wealthy merchants with sharpened and branched skewers to ask for gifts. The original location of the fountain was originally at The Hague.

The remains of the fountain there were integrated into the redesign of the green area of "Nuthepark" in 2004 and set new artistic accents with the sculpture group "9 out of 49".
