The "Sophienhafen West" (Hafenstraße) built in 1857 is located directly on the banks of the Saale (Halle (Saale), Hafenstraße). Until the closure of operations in 1968, it was mainly used as quarters for the Saale boatmen.

In addition to a few single and multi-family houses, the Sophienhafen has been converted into numerous lofts and is already inhabited.
