The manor house Burg Altendorf is a formerly water-defended knight seat of a free aristocratic family that goes back to medieval predecessors. The original owners were those of Hambroich zu Wolfskeil, an old Klevian noble family. In 1550 the castle was enfeoffed to Johann Roist von Wers, who was also the landlord of Niederdrees. This was probably destroyed in 1673. In the 18th century, the Zum Pütz family from Cologne is named as the lord of the castle.

The building on Burgstraße, now known as „Herrenhaus Burg Altendorf“, was formerly a moated knight's seat. It was inhabited by a free noble family tracing its lineage back to medieval predecessors.
