The dream path "Koberner Burgpfad", however, the Keverbachtal is closed due to a bridge damage, so that part of the path was rerouted.
Still a beautiful, very varied path. Many views into the distance, many flowering insect meadows between cornfields. In addition, the view of the castle and the Moselle valley.
      A wonderful way!

A varied tour with children. The via ferrata is just the thing for experiencing a bit of adventure without being overwhelmed. Even the fear of heights is kept in check here.
Continue to the far-sighted swing and shortly afterwards the Maus Castle is within your grasp.
Finally back along the Rhine, see traces of flooding, the edge of the water right on the way. Mediterranean waves roll over the meadow meadows.
As a reward there is an ice cream.
      Beautiful day!

And now the last section of my multi-day hike.
Such a path that is not beautiful, not inviting - I really cannot recommend it! Dead, mindless villages, lots of roads and tarred paths. Only the piece along the black nest is very pretty and a bit closer to nature. Unfortunately also parallel to the very busy country road.
Bad Marienberg is not my cup of tea at all: a health resort, everything is tidy, paved, barrier-free, clean, tidy, fenced - as far from nature as it can be and quite nice and tidy. The basalt lake is also fenced in, the game reserve is terribly noisy with lots of machines and go-carts and other children's entertainment that somehow has nothing to do with animals.
The forest is terrifyingly moving: it is practically no longer there. Only small patches of mixed forest have been preserved, the vast spruce forests have mostly been cut down and look like a bizarre lunar landscape. Heavy equipment and people continue to work to cut down the dead trees - therefore the wolf stones were closed. If you want to feel the consequences of climate change, in this case two years of heat and drought, first hand, you can do so here. It moved and touched me and deeply strengthened my decision to work even harder to finally live an ecological footprint that fits one world and does not consume several worlds.

Actually, I wanted to run to Nistertal today.
... the route to the Gräbersberg is so, so beautiful!
It took me several hours for the 10km because I kept stopping and enjoying!
I can hardly mark a highlight because the whole way was so great! The Dreifelder Weiher looks just wonderful, as do the rustic cattle that graze on the bank. The path around the consecration, on the other hand, was a standard walk and very well filled.
But then it went along the Wied. For someone like me, who knows the Wied as a river near Neuwied that flows into the Rhine, the modest brook is hardly recognizable as Wied. ;-) A narrow path accompanies the narrow Wied and after losing sight of it for a moment, you finally end up at the Wied source. A quiet, simple place that invited me to linger. And to fill up my water bottle (with filter ...).
Then to the Gräbersberg there are beautiful, secluded, almost primeval forest sections - I even saw a large grass snake! Quietly but quickly she disappeared in the tall grass towards the stream when she felt my footsteps. As a child, I last saw grass snakes here in my home area. So it touched me and I was happy that it still exists. And it makes me sad that they have become so rare.
Further uphill, a long, dense strip of flowers with a sheaf of gold, inhabited and fluttered around by hundreds of small butterflies, captivates at the edge of the path! They accompany me every step of the way and shimmer through the air like little elven creatures.
Finally, the view from the Gräbersberg over the surrounding area is beautiful and incredibly relaxing. I didn't find the Alpenroder Hut so appealing, it's just a beer garden. There are plenty of bikers and bikers here (the WW-Steig, on the other hand, is deserted!) - the menu looks accordingly: Bratwurst, Siedwurst, sausage platter, sausage salad .... meatball ..... The only meal without meat is a cheese sandwich, which I then approved (8 €! For cheap cheese on cheap bread!). After all, it was so plentiful that I packed half of it and had another full meal with it ;-)
But as I said ... once around the "corner" the hut is no longer noticeable, peace is brewing and the place simply captivates with its simple beauty and the all-round view of the vastness. So this is where I open my tarp.
      (and sleep guuuut)

I didn't find this stage of the ww climb so nice. Lots of wide forest paths, a lot of tarred. Lots of freshly mown meadows. Unfortunately without flower strips for the insects.
The section approx. From Wölferlingen is completely different! The marshland and beaver pond are beautiful and rich in species. In a very peaceful atmosphere, you can watch water birds, frogs and dragonflies here.
I spent the night in stones in a dear woman's site trailer, who offers this for one night free of charge via a platform. In company with ponies, ducks, dogs, cats and even more animals. Even a shower was included. (And also necessary ;-)).
      Very hospitable!

Hijken im Westerwald: I plan the stage based on the Westerwaldsteig. Then it is decided spontaneously whether I will go further or stay, turn differently or have enough at all.
This first stage was wonderful! Many touching natural moments. The Holzbach Gorge in particular is really a highlight from times long past.
I slept in the hammock / bivouac at the Katzenstein. It was pretty cold.
A wonderfully peaceful forest. Definitely an experience!
