The Wartburg can be admired from many places, all of which deserve the Pretikat extra class.
August 5, 2021
At the northwestern end of the Thuringian Forest, the Wartburg sits enthroned on a narrow rock ridge about 200 meters above the city of Eisenach. It is a castle of the noble Ludowinger family and was founded in 1067 by Ludwig the Springer, son of Ludwig the Bearded, ancestor of the Ludowingers. The name Wartburg comes from Warte and means something like Wachburg or Wächterburg. In the 19th century, the Wartburg was completely restored and decorated. In 1999 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Wartburg is an impressive testimony to over 1000 years of German history.

In fact, here is probably the most beautiful view of the Wartburg. Not too far away and not too close. You only have to walk a few steps further from Kanonenplatz.
In addition, of course, you also have a view of Eisenach. But this one has probably even better from the castle.
