Here, Eckernförde Bay and Kiel Fjord meet, and the further you walk toward Kiel, the clearer the view becomes of the opposite side of the fjord, with the Laboe Memorial.
Many ships pass by here, just about to pass through or having left the Kiel Canal, and numerous large passenger ships begin their journey from Kiel to Scandinavia.
