The Reichenstein Viaduct offers an impressive viewpoint – whether you're cycling or walking. This spot is one of the most scenic sections of the Vennbahn cycle path within the Monschau municipal area. From there, you have a sweeping view across the Ermesbach valley to the area surrounding the Vennhof farm, while in the other direction, you can see Reichenstein Monastery with its pond and the wooded slopes of the Rur valley.

The Vennbahn between Aachen and Troisvierges in the north of Luxembourg, with the unique Hohes Venn high moor in between, is one of the longest railway cycle paths in Europe at 125 kilometers.
It is almost symbolic of a moving part of Europe: Originally a connection between coalfields in the north and steelworks in the south, then an artery in the conflict zone of two world wars, then fell into oblivion to fill the cross-border region with life today. Cross-border in the truest sense of the word, because the cycle path changes more than a dozen times between Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.
