The oldest part of the church dates from the 13th century.
The church was extensively rebuilt and expanded at the end of the 15th century. An octagonal spire was built on the older base, then the brick church was replaced by a large basilica nave with a three-sided east gable. which, according to written sources, was completed in 1488.
In the 19th century the church was extensively restored twice.
