The stream is called Wiembecke and rises west of the Externsteine, where it is dammed into a pond, flows in an arc to the northeast through Horn and then to the northwest through Fromhausen and past the Hornoldendorf manor to the entrance to Heiligenkirchen, from where it bears the name of the Berlebecke that you flow to here from the left. Shortly before this confluence, archaeological evidence of Neolithic settlement has been found on the left bank.
