Tips
The path from the Externsteinen over the Bärenstein ridge (Hermannsweg or E1) is also very worthwhile, but the path around the Bärenstein to the north is definitely a nice alternative. To the southwest it has a gorge-like character due to the old quarries. Under no circumstances should you choose the wide path that branches off to Holzhausen.
