In terms of architectural history, the church is something special with its mixture of Romanesque and late Gothic elements. Here we find fieldstone and brick masonry from the first half of the 15th century with a Romanesque fieldstone tower from the 12th century with coupled sound arcades made of Portas sandstone. Around 1500 the sacristy was also built of brick. The tracery of the windows is made of cut stone. The east gables of the nave are adorned by soaring plinths.
