First mentioned in 1445, it was destroyed in 1462, soon rebuilt and burned down nine years later. And a third time the mill was destroyed in a campaign against Delmenhorst. This time the reconstruction was carried out with stones from the former monastery buildings of the Hude monastery.

In 1844 the Elmeloh watermill was demolished again, but rebuilt a little further south. For a long time, the flour was used to supply the farmers in the area, who at that time were all still baking their own bread. The Elmeloher watermill has not rattled for more than 50 years, but it is still a sight.

The mill is privately owned and cannot be visited.
