To the north opposite the main courtyard of the palace is the box office built in 1747 (Schlossplatz 4a). It was, so to speak, the "tax office", at the same time the residential and official building of the Kastner who administered the city's income on behalf of the city of Nuremberg. Since 1843 the building, owned by the city since 1841, has been used as a school building, at times on the left as a fire station. Another renovation took place in 1890. The western part was renewed in 1982.
