From the Schafrain there is a wonderful view of the Amöneburg, the former bishop's seat of the important missionary Bonifatius in the Franconian period. From here, hikers can also let their gaze wander over to Reddehausen, the Cölbe-Schönstadt airfield and the Cölbe golf course. As the name suggests, the meadows at this point were used as communal pasture land for sheep and as a planting garden until the 20th century.
