The Bertembos and the Eikenbos have remained virtually unchanged in shape and surface since the Middle Ages. Through the green pearl of 155 hectares you can reach the highest point of Bertem, 92.5 meters. In the spring you can admire the wood anemones here. The Bertembos largely consists of oak and beech trees with an often interesting relief of 'dellen' and gullies with colorful names such as 'Vossenkuil' and 'Wolvendel'.
The subsoil consists of iron-containing sands that come to the surface in various places.
