Walk through the nature reserve De Uitkerkse Polders with its many fens and very beautiful views.
June 25, 2021
Between the busy seaside towns of Blankenberge and De Haan and the quiet polder village Zuienkerke, lies this centuries-old meadow landscape: the Uitkerkse Polder. Interlaced by many ditches and dotted with dozens of cattle drinking pools, this area is an oasis of calm along the busy coastline. But appearances can be deceiving, because in winter thousands of geese settle here, while spring is the scene of hundreds of courting meadow birds. Whatever season you come here, you will be amazed! In the visitor center you will discover the story of the largest nature reserve in West Flanders. This is a place where you can enjoy peace and quiet, both inside the cafeteria and outside on the picnic terrace at the pool. The Uitkerkse Polder is an absolute must for families with children.

The Uitkerske Polders are an eldorado for birds, which can nest peacefully here on the wide meadows. In between there are always small farms with livestock. All in all, a beautiful piece of land and very close to Blankenberge.
