Who likes castles, likes the Wartburg! Hardly any other castle is so connected with German history. The most famous guests of sleep, since the foundation in 1067 by Ludwig the Springer, were Martin Luther, the holy Elisabeth, Goethe and Wagner.
The Wartburg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
