In the west of the village of Schipluiden there is a centuries-old flour mill, the Korpershoek. The mill owes its name to the carp fish that mate and spawn nearby. The original mill burned down on February 2, 1945. In 1950, the current mill, called De Jonge Pieter, was placed at the same location. This mill originally dates from 1772 and came from Leimuiden.
