Other half and I are on autumn holidays with the Eastern neighbors. Thuringia, Thuringian Forest to be precise. About 6 hours drive from Delft. Hiker's mecca, beautiful scenery, pretty towns.
Wandelwomanman is not a walker. If it has no purpose, it is useless. You can't see anything through the trees and more of that kind of analysis. Give him a good battle and old stone. So when the opportunity arises, I put on my hiking boots and head out into the autumn environment.
This round had those spots, paths and landscape that make me very happy… 🥾🍂🌾

Walked an incredibly nice route last week thanks to hiking bloggers GroeneHartstocht.
The first part goes through the old city center of Leiden. Didn't get along with all those terraces and ice cream parlors of course..
Then the contrast with new neighborhoods and parks, a nice petting zoo also suitable for adult children. A piece of power district where you can buy fruit at the Ahmed supermarket and ultimately enjoy the beautiful polders and get a breath of fresh air at the waterfront de Zijl.

Alternate tour from Rockanje. Piece of beach was lovely, piece of dunes nice and Quackjeswater a special place. Alone with all kinds of birds that dwell in a puddle under the evening sun with the eternal sound of traffic noise in the background.
The piece of built-up area before you walk back into Rockanje for an ice cream and the bus back home is also nice to walk through.
At the beginning I mainly imagined myself at a dog walking place.

To end my holiday, unpacked big.
Since this walk, I've been considering a career switch to sheepherder...
The famous Posbank was still busy even on a Monday at this time of year (heath bloom). It looked like the Efteling at the pavilion of Natuurmonumenten. In the queue for an ice cream, in the queue for the toilet.. And toilet paper in nature. 😠
Once in the woods it became quiet. So quiet that a young wild boar crossed my path with his/her family.. Great! 🐗
The hilly heathland was magically beautiful in the evening sun. Very much enjoyed. 💜

Saturday enjoyed a walk over the beautiful heath plains near Bussum and its inhabitants (Scottish Highlanders).
The weather was perfect. Sun and clouds alternated, making shades of color visible in the purple. The wind from the North, which has been plaguing us for a while this summer, provided cooling.
Before that we walked through the woods of the Spanderswoud. There I was treated to a bird of prey diving for unfortunate prey in the path ahead of me. Hilarious commentary by André van Duin not included…

Walked a stage of the Floris-V path between the charming towns of Woerden and Oudewater.
Walking out of Woerden is a bit of a bite because of the presence of traffic roads, but as the route progresses, you can enjoy it. Enjoy the beautiful Dutch landscape along the water.
The Floris-V path seems to me to be a nice path to walk. I'll note him down as a hiking goal for next year!

Nice loop from Scheveningen in the Westduinpark on a sunny afternoon/evening.
Along the various beach entrances with the sun in my face for the necessary freckles and back a few beautiful and relatively quiet dune paths with a cooling breeze along the hiking cheeks.

I have lived in this beautiful city of Princes for sixteen years now. There is no terrace, no alley, no canal, no chocolate shop that I do not know..
'Our backyard', which we share with Pijnacker and Nootdorp, is a different story.
The Delftse Hout is familiar territory, but I rediscovered the Bieslandse Bos today after cycling through it years ago.
What a beautiful area! 💚
Lush vegetation, surprising paths and vistas.
Grabbed a piece of Bali and headed home in summer rain soaked jeans and sneakers!

Hoden Arrow is a former glory.
There was a hamlet there, basically the same collection of farms you see today. Some are quite old, at least 16th century. The (Catholic) church where Johannes Vermeer was married used to be there. But the glory also extended beyond the Gaag. They built a church there around 1880. The restaurant is later located in the outbuildings.
