In close connection with the construction of a fifth lock chamber, the city is investing in its future and developing a new brand profile: the SCHLEUSENMEILE BRUNSBÜTTEL.
In 2010, a maritime adventure playground was opened on the promenade of SCHLEUSENMEILE BRUNSBÜTTEL. Since then, the little Klabautermänner can let off steam here. The electronic scoreboard (lock radar) shows in real time the moving ships on the Elbe and the Kiel Canal, of course, the big pots, which are currently in the lock.
The modern tourist office is located directly in front of the entrance to the Brunsbüttel locks and is the first port of call for holidaymakers and day visitors.

Absolutely worth seeing. Lock number 6 is currently being built.

For us the highlight in Brunsbüttel. The pedestrian zone is not recognizable as such. But the locks are, as soon as you bring more time. Had the luck to be here when they opened again to the canal. class
