At the edge of the Rupelmondse Kreek is the Carp House, one of the few buildings that survived the adaptation works in the polders. The Carp House was built from recycled materials. This makes it appear older than it really is. The building dates from 1961 and was originally a holiday home.

nice walking path to it. The privateer's house is a true masterpiece in terms of masonry. This house was built with his own hands by Cyriel De Roeck. Bricklayer by profession and this can be seen from the beautiful roll layers and the decorations in the masonry. There are even windows made in the shape of fish. Well worth it!
