The François House commemorates the writer Louise von Francois, it is the former home of the storyteller and writer. Parts of an older residential tower from 1550 are integrated into the simple two-storey house from 1665.
Further additions were made until 1810.
Louise von François was born on June 27, 1817 in Herzberg on the Black Elster. In 1850 she began her literary work. Five years later she moved to Weißenfels, where she lived until her death. In Weißenfels she also wrote her main work "The Last Reckenburgerin". A high upper floor rises above a low ground floor with stone walls on the windows and door. The symmetrical rendered building with eight window axes and a dormer is covered by a half-hipped roof.In the François house, which is privately owned, a room commemorates the poet and her work. In 2013 and 2014, the German Foundation for the Protection of Monuments provided funds for the repair of flood damage to plaster, windows, screed, electrics and sanitary installations.denkmalschutz.de/denkmal/louise-von-francois-haus-promenade-25.html

On the promenade, the house where François' mother and stepfather and M. Louise lived for a time has been preserved. In Weißenfels, the 19th-century poet enjoyed a certain popularity, above all because of the "pug with the pointy hat". A sculpture commemorating this was installed in 1905 in the courtyard of the house at Markt 6 / Sächsischer Hof (the house of her childhood).
