Tips
  • The earliest mention of Wolfsburg is contained in a Lehensurkunde of 1269. An interesting and very long castle ruin. Definitely worth a visit. Admission is free and it is accessible at all times.

  • The Wolfsburg is the ruin of a mountain castle at the western entrance of Neustadt an der Weinstraße (Rhineland-Palatinate). Because of the elongated shape of the mountain spur on which the Wolfsburg was built, the ruins at a length of about 140 m only about 30 m wide. The longitudinal axis of the plant shows from northeast to southwest.

  • Beautiful, enchanted ruin, great views in all directions, plenty of space for a break. Sheep graze around in summer, which is why dogs may need to be leashed depending on the route there. A worthwhile goal for young and old.

  • Nice destination for a short hike from the Dr. Welsch Terrassen via the Sonnenweg or the parallel path in the forest (above the Sonnenweg). Those who want to extend the round can then hike from here on beautiful paths to the wine region.
